STYLE :: 7 Ideas How To Wear Aran Sweater

by

It’s not always the designers who introduce a must-have fashion piece. Aran sweater or fisherman’s jumper was first knitted in early 1900’s by women of the Aran Islands. Not only to keep their guys warm, but also to sell them to support their families. Smart women. Since his debut in Vogue in the 50’s Aran sweater became acceptable in polite society. No matter if girl or boy nowadays everybody owns or should own one. It’s cozy, keeps you warm and adds a rustic touch to your outfit.
You can style it with everything. Jeans, shorts, skirts and even with a fine dress.

I didn’t know these sweaters were called Aran sweaters – but I like them a lot! My favorite styles are probably the midi/maxi skirt and the skinny jeans and flats combination. That first picture is adorable!

Such a cozy sweater! Wouldn’t wear this myself (cannot stand wool), but love seeing it on others!
