WHAT TO DO
Needless to say, when you are in the middle of Sonoma wine tasting is an obvious activity. The nearby wineries Korbel Winery and Porter-Bass Winery are a great choice to challenge your inner sommelier and work out your wine taste buds.
Canoeing on The Russian River
Ok, this is absolutely our favorite activity when in Guerneville. Fill your cooler with provisions, grease your face with sunscreen, put your sun hat on and paddle away on the Russian River. Anchor on small beaches for picnic and swimming and enjoy the ride through the nature. It doesn’t get better than this. For canoe renting, check out Burke’s Canoe Trips in Forestville.
Pack your beach blanket and savor the hot summer days on the riverside along the Russian River. Between Forestville and Guerneville, you can find many hidden beaches to enjoycool summer drinks while floating away on a tube. For more lively experience, try the Johnson Beach only a few blocks from the Main Street.
Only 5 minutes with the car or 20 minutes walk, the Armstrong Redwoods Park is a pristine nature waiting to be explored by foot, bike or horseback riding. Picnic tables make breathers more comfortable and if you happen to have a tent with you, you can even stay overnight.
Happy road tripping!
