Today friends I want to share with you my ultimate day trip that we have already done few times last year and already one time this year. Canoeing on the Russian River. It’s definitely one of my top 3 day get-a ways. This trip has it all. Adventure, relaxing, swimming, picnicking, gorgeous nature and lots of laughter. It’s only 1,5h from San Francisco and the canoe cost won’t break the bank with $65. We always rent our canoes at Burke’s Canoe in Forestville. They have tons of canoes there, so you could probably also show up spontaneously, but if you want to be sure your canoe is waiting for you, I suggest make a reservation. The trip is about 10 miles long and passes small beaches where you can have a picnic or just dip into the water. For us, it takes always about 5-6h from starting to finishing line. At the end an old school bus will be waiting for you to bring you back to your car. Super convenient. I didn’t take so many pictures during our trip, but I hope you will get the impression what’s expecting you. When you are done with your trip and you have your car back, I highly recommended driving to Guernerville, only about 10 minutes from Forestville. Have a stroll on the main drag and grab some coffee and baked goods at Big Bottom Market. Soooo good. I would love to hear if you do this trip how do you like it. And make sure to scroll down for a packing list and some more details. RUSSIAN RIVER CHECK LIST
